CATCH THE JOY

Joy often shimmers
            from the unexpected
            the most mundane

            meeting a friend at market
                        exchanging smiles
            a phone call
                        long overdue
            a passage in a book
                        causing pause
            tree-ripened fruit
                        shared with a friend

Joy’s reflected as from a mirror
            to a mirror
            as light’s intensified
Your joy brings joy to me

Joy’s light astounds
            as does a fleeting
                        rainbow
            or starry heavens, infinite
                         in the darkest night

Joy shimmers
            but may be quickly gone
            so let’s be quick
            and catch the joy
                        and pass it on

RAVEN TIME ~ Poems humorous, philosophical, and some full of passion. I never know what a poem is going to be until it is written. And even then, I need responses from readers to be certain of my meaning.
